He is Fat, Fifty and Going to Cycle Almost 50 Miles! [Announcement]
Marc Cattle is a project manager for Cardiff East and South Scout District. His present project is working with the 49th Cardiff Scout Group in Rumney. The biggest problem facing that group (like most others) is lack of adult volunteers to work with the group, but the second biggest problem is funding.
The Rumney group like all others isn’t paid for by the government or local authority but by the parents of the children members and fundraising with the Group supplying fun and adventure to both girls and boys from 6-15 Marc decided it was time he “Got on his bike” and raised some money.
The challenge that he’s set himself is cycling 48 miles from Bristol to Bradford upon Avon and back on July 25th. The route is part of the Bristol Bike Challenge event and is described by the organisers’ as the “Challenge Extra” and is 48 miles ( Not counting getting to and from the train station) of cycle and tow path the route can be seen here http://www.ukchallengeevents.com/route.php.
He’s already raising sponsorship and is committed to not only completing the route but also wearing the Groups colours on his way round, all he has to do now is decide which of his bikes to use. He needs all the help he can get so why not donate and help him achieve his goal for his Scout group.
