Site Service

A Network Campsite Project (NCP) was set up by the Area Scout Network back in 2004 to undertake much needed conservation and site service at the Area's local campsite.
Much has been achieved to date and Jubilee looks all the better for it but much more still remains to be done. The wooded area requires the large amounts of fallen trees cleared, drainage ditches constantly maintained and various other aspects of site work undertaken.
In 2008 the Jubilee Service Team was developed out of the Network Campsite Project, which was initially set up by the area Scout Network to undertake much needed conservation and site service at the area's local campsite. Jubilee Service Team is formed as a Scout Fellowship to enable those interested in helping with the project, but no longer members of the Scout Network, to continue this work. Fellowship status ensures group members, under the supervision of the AAC fellowship Glenys Shelly, are suitably vetted and insured. The work of the group is also reviewed yearly to ensure it continues to provide safe and appropriate active support to the young people of CATVOG.
The Scout Association award scheme allows the efforts
of those involved to be rewarded with the Environment Group award
and the Service section of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. A series
of conservation weekends are planned for the whole year and those
interested can turn up for the whole weekend or just come up for
the day depending on commitments.
Buses run from Cardiff Central Station stand B6 to
the driveway before Jubilee Fields (or after, if you forget to aks
and sail past looking at the scenery!)
So no excuses if you cant drive/forgot to arrange
a lift/misplaced your sleeping bag...
