There is no doubt that parents value what Scouting does for their children. In an independent survey of over 2,000 parents of Scouts, 9 out of 10 parents said Scouting is worthwhile (7 in 10 very worthwhile) and 9 in 10 said their children find Scouting enjoyable (6 in 10 very enjoyable).
Parents say Scouting gives their children more confidence, responsibility, a broader set of friends, a chance to pursue things they might not get to do otherwise, adventure and an extended family.

I Want My Child to Join Scouting
On completion of this form you will be directed to our national website which centrally co-ordinates membership inquiries.
Once you enter your (or your child’s) details into the web form, you will receive details of your local Scouting contact and your details are e-mailed to the District Commissioner.
You will also receive a postcard sent direct to yourself from Gilwell Park.
If for any reason you do not hear from the District Commissioner please contact us at our Area office which is staffed weekdays between 9:30am and 12:30pm by email or phone on 029 2045 4338.
Six weeks after your initial enquiry has been made, a follow up questionnaire will be sent to the
you asking for feedback on the process and, most importantly, whether you have been
successful in joining Scouting.
