Ongoing Learning!

We never stop learning, and there is always something new: facts that Scouting recognises. Our Adult Training provides just that opportunity through ongoing learning following the award of the Wood Badge.

All warranted appointments have a commitment to an average of 5 hours of learning each year for the duration of your warrant. This gives you the chance to keep up-to-date, for example First Aid training, topping up skills and pursuit of interests appropriate to, or even outside your Scouting Role.

These could include:
  • Adventurous Activity Permit
  • International
  • Special Needs
  • Management Skills
  • Programme Support skills
  • Presenting skills
  • Training Adviser
There will also from time to time be special programmes introduced either nationally or locally about updating yourself on issues like Child Protection or Equal Opportunities.
